The Best Juicing Recipes to Boost Energy

Your body needs much more than simple calories to produce strong and stable energy. Vitamins, minerals, enzymes and various other nutrients all have a vital role to play in energy production and a deficiency in any number of them can have a serious impact on how you feel.
Fresh vegetables and fruits are some of the best sources of the nutrition you need to perform at your best. But how do we fit enough of them into our diet? That’s where juicing comes in. The unique nature of freshly made fruit and vegetable juices makes juicing especially effective, particularly for those that often find their energy levels low or fluctuating wildly due to the effects of sugar or caffeine.

1. Minted Fruit Cocktail Juice

  • 1 apple, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 orange, peeled and divided
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 2 cups watermelon, cubed and seeded
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • A small sprig of fresh mint
Juice the apple and orange first, followed by the pineapple. Transfer juice to a blender, and add the watermelon, lemon juice, and mint. Puree until smooth.

2. The Power Veg

  • 3 medium carrots.
  • 2 stalks of celery.
  • 1 large or 2 small beets.
  • Around an inch-long piece of ginger, a bit more if you like the fiery taste.
Clean all veggies then cut into 1 in chunks and juice all ingredients, stir and drink immediately.

3. Green Goddess Juice

  • 1/2 a cucumber, peeled and sliced
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 handful of kale
  • 1 apple, peeled and sliced
  • 1 pear, peeled and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Juice all of the ingredients in order, ending with the lemon juice. If you find that the juice is too thick, pour a bit of water into your juicer to get the last bits of goodness out, and dilute the end product.

4. The Sweet Mint Finisher

  • Half a large papaya.
  • A cup of strawberries.
  • A handful of fresh mint, including the stalks.
  • Wash all produce thoroughly
  • Cut papaya into chunks, and slice the stems off the strawberries
  • Juice all ingredients and drink immediately
Mint has been used for thousands of years across the globe as a digestive tract relaxer. Its aroma alone activates digestive saliva and enzymes in the body that help break down food smoothly.

5. The Iron Maiden Juice

  • 2 large beets, peeled and sliced
  • 2 carrots, trimmed
  • 1 small apple, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • a handful of spinach
  • 1/4 cup of water
Juice all of the ingredients in order, ending with a bit of water. This is an iron-rich, replenishing tonic that’s also a liver cleanser.
